Werner Selmer

Werner Selmer, born in 1948, is a mechanical engineer with a diploma degree and has decades of experience in mechanical vehicle engineering, metal technology, and offshore plant construction. After training as a toolmaker and studying mechanical engineering, he held various leadership positions from 1980 onward at MAK/Krupp in Kiel – initially in planning and later as operations manager in metal construction. From 1991 to 2000, he headed the rail vehicle and transport technology division at Siemens/Krupp/Vossloh. He then served as managing director at a wind turbine manufacturer. Managing director of a former maintenance plant of the German Federal Railways. For the personnel services sector, he established the Argo Team Technik division for the Argo Group. Since 2002, Werner Selmer has worked part-time as a consulting engineer – among others for Frerk Aggregatebau, Funkwerk AG, Siemens Energy (via Tecnitas), Prakla Bohrtechnik, and Voith Munich. As a welding engineer (SLV Hamburg), he contributes extensive expertise in construction supervision in plant construction and production coordination. Teaching activities at Kiel University of Applied Sciences and at TÜV Rheinland round off his profile.
